The EMedIC (Engineering Medical Innovation Competition) Global 2019 is a global challenge in which teams of university students design and develop clinically-driven and client-centered engineering innovations for the future of medicine and healthcare.
The EMedIC Global was first organised in 2016 in Hong Kong; its second competition was organised and held in 2017 in Taipei and last year in 2018, it was again held in Hong Kong. The past competitions attracted students from China, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA. This year, in conjunction with the 17th International Conference of Biomedical Engineering (ICBME2019) in Singapore, the 4th EMedIC Global 2019 will be co-organized by Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore, Society of Engineers for the Community (SEC) and the Biomedical Engineering Society (Singapore) on 8th December 2019.
The scope of EMedIC Global includes:
- Health screening and diagnostic devices
- Medical monitoring and life-maintenance devices
- Therapeutic and surgical devices
- Rehabilitative and assistive devices
AWARDS
- Gold Award - S$1,500
- Silver Award - S$1,250
- Bronze Award - S$750
- Merit Awards x 3 - S$500 each
