GENERAL INFORMATION

Please find below important information to facilitate your arrival and stay in Singapore for the 16th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering, to be held from 7th to 10th December at the Stephen Riady Centre, NUS University Town™.

Badge

Upon registration and completion of payment, you will receive your badge and conference materials. It is mandatory that participants wear their badges at all times at the conference venue. Kindly note that only cash payment is accepted onsite. 

Language

The official language of the Conference is English. No translation will be provided.

Internet Access

Complimentary WIFI is available within the Conference venue. It is designed for web browsing and checking web-based email and not designed for accessing VPN or downloading of large files. Please approach our registration staff for log in details.

Refreshments

Morning and afternoon coffee breaks will be served daily at the foyer on Level 1. Please refer to the programme for the time of each coffee break.

Lunch

Conference lunch is not provided. However, participants may like to visit Flavours@UTown which offers many local cuisines on Level 2 of the Stephen Riady Centre. Alternatively, more dining options are available at Town Plaza, which is a short walking distance away.

Speakers’ Ready Room

Upon registration, all speakers and presenters are requested to proceed to the Speakers’ Ready Room (Level 2, VIP Lounge 2 outside Auditorium 2) to submit your video or PowerPoint slide presentations. Please note that all presentation files should be submitted at least 4 hours prior to your session.

Poster Presentation

Posters are presented at the foyer on Level 1 throughout the Conference. Poster judging sessions will take place during lunch from 7 to 9 December and poster authors are encouraged to be by their posters during this period.

Poster authors are to note the poster set-up and dismantling schedule below. Kindly remove your posters within the specific dismantling period. Posters that are not removed on time will be disposed.

Certificates of Attendance 

Certificates of Attendance are available for collection at the registration counters located on Level 1 from Wednesday, 7 December 2016, 2:00pm onwards.

Welcome Reception, 7 December 2016

All registered delegates are invited to join us for an evening of networking, drinks and light refreshments to kick off ICBME 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Admission is by conference badge only.

Gala Dinner, 9 December 2016 (Ticketed Event)

The ICBME 2016 Gala Dinner will be held on Friday, 9 December, in the Phoenix Grand Ballroom (Level 6) at Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Please note that admission is strictly by ticket only. Limited tickets are available for sale onsite, on a first-come-first-served basis. Ticket sale closes at 2:00pm on 7 December 2016. Please note that only cash payment will be accepted onsite.

Complimentary shuttle service to and fro Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay will be provided. Please check with the registration counter for the shuttle service schedule.

Liability and Insurance

The Conference Organisers and Secretariat cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participant and accompanying persons. Participants are advised to take up their own travel and health insurance for their trip.
